Personal Motto/Inspiration: The view is worth the climb!
How long have you been a runner? I’ve been running for 15 years. I grew up racing track and cross country in high school and college. I always liked cross country better than the flat, uniform surface of the track because of the hills and trails on the courses. In college I also ran marathons and enjoyed the longer distances so it just seemed natural to try moving up into the ultra scene in the trails and the mountains!
Happiest running moment: Qualifying for my first US Olympic Trials marathon in 2007 at the age of 21 on a super hot day. I barfed on the finish line, but made it with 17 seconds to spare!
Proudest running accomplishment: Winning the Ivy League Conference title on the track at 10,000m. My strategy in that race was spot-on.
Favorite local running route: Bear Peak
Favorite distance: Marathon to 50 miles
Favorite race: White River 50
If you could lace up your shoes and go for a run anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? I’d go to check out the mountains in the southern island of New Zealand
Dreams: Travel the world running and racing.
When I’m not running I’m… Editing videos, coaching, “marketing” on social media, blogging, cooking good food with Sandi.
