Previously from: Born and raised in the great state of Ohio.
Personal Motto: Run uphill, eat plants, drink beer, and have fun.
How long have you been a runner? I have always been a runner. I have not always been a distance runner. In high school, I ran the 100m, 200m, and 400m. In hindsight, my favorite part of any sport I participated in was the “conditioning” aspect. I have always enjoyed running and competing with friends. As far as running ultra distance, three years.
Inspiration: My biggest inspiration to become a trail and ultra runner is my father, Christopher Lassen. Since I was a child he has shown me how beautiful the trails and the forest can be. He is the ultramarathoner who introduced me into the sport and the trail. He is my inspiration in every race.
Happiest running moment: Pacing my Father in his first 100 mile trail ultra.
Favorite local running route: Green Mountain loop in Boulder, CO. (Gregory/Greenman/Green-West-Ridge/Green-Bear/Bear-Canyon/Mesa) Perfect 10 mile loop.
Favorite distance: 50M
Favorite race: Devil Mountain 50M (Pagosa Springs CO)
If you could lace up your shoes and go for a run anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? Tor de Geants course
When I’m not running I’m… wondering why the hell I am not running.
Uphills or Downhills? Still not great at them, but I love them both. Train on them as much as possible.
