Personal Motto: Kick butt, have fun!

How long have you been a runner? Been running since Nov 2000. Back then I lived in NYC and happened to stumble upon, needless to say, an amazing event – The New York City Marathon. I couldn’t believe all these people had just run 26 miles. The energy was infectious and I was hooked. That’s when I started running. Ran my first marathon on July 2001. I’m relatively new to trail ultra running. Crewing one of friends at the Leadville 100 got me hooked. Loved the camaraderie, the energy there. Salida Run Through Time was my first trail marathon in 2012. Collegiate Peaks 50 was my first trail ultra also in 2012. Now I’m obviously hooked to trail running and racing.

Happiest running moment: Finishing a really tough race is awesome but the icing on the cake is getting to run through the finish with my son. At the 2013 San Juan Solstice, I was having a really tough time. And the thought of finishing with my son really pushed me and motivated me to keep going. Looking forward to many such moments.

Proudest running accomplishment: Finishing my first 50, Collegiate Peaks 50 in 2012.

Favorite local running route: Bear Peak (via Fern), Bear Peak (West Ridge), Green Mountain, down to Chautauqua, Back up Green, run back to the start.

Favorite distance: 50M. No pacers, no crew, no BS. Just git-er-dun.

Favorite race: San Juan Solstice 50

If you could lace up your shoes and go for a run anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? Out my front door.

Goals: Run faster, farther than I can right now.

When I’m not running I’m… thinking of running.

Uphills or Downhills? Love the uphills, hate the downhills (especially technical ones).

Favorite post-run beer: No beer for me but how about a Spicy Bloody Mary.

I am a Rocky Mountain Runner because… it’s just what I need to achieve my goals and stay excited about running. It’s a fast, fun, supportive group of runners.
