Personal Motto: Running is a form of moving meditation. Breathing, looking, moving and being grateful for the health I enjoy.

How long have you been a runner? I have been a runner since 1980, mostly 5k and 10k distances until 2000 when I ran my first marathon. 38 road marathons later, I moved to Colorado and life will never be the same because of the trails. Vistas continue to inspire me to continue trail running… and the great people you meet out there.

Happiest running moment: Pacing two friends on 100 mile ultras. There is nothing like helping someone else achieve a goal.

Proudest running accomplishment: My first 50 mile race, Moab-to-Slickrock, with 10,000 feet of gain. I took the third place male master award on my very first 50 miler.

Favorite local running route: The Green Mountain loop going counterclockwise from Chataqua through Gregory Canyon-Ranger-Connector-Bear Green Canyon-Mesa trail route.

Favorite distance: 50K

Favorite race: Rodeo Valley 50K in Sausilto, CA

If you could lace up your shoes and go for a run anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? The Big Island…Hawaii!

Goals: To make as many friends on the trails as I can and continue to find new places to explore.

When I’m not running I’m… swimming – great way to recover and stay active.

Uphills or Downhills? Lov’em both but would have to tip my hat to the ups!

Favorite post-run beer: Upslope IPA

I am a Rocky Mountain Runner because… I want to continue to explore and find adventure.
