How long have you been a runner? Full time for 8 years, part for exercise since junior high school. I moved into trail running from hiking and mountaineering as a way to move myself faster through the mountains to enjoy far away areas not reachable at regular speeds.
Happiest running moment: Descending Mt Shavano at the end of Nolans 14, surrounded by all my friends and support crew after a grueling yet gratifying 57hour trek through the Sawatch Range.
Proudest running accomplishment: Completing Nolans 14 after scouting it for several years.
Favorite local running route: Bear Peak via Fern Canyon/West Ridge.
Favorite distance: Anything long with beautiful views.
Favorite race: Hardrock 100
If you could lace up your shoes and go for a run anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? The Fiordlands region of New Zealand.
Goals: To explore and experience as much of the natural world as possible in my life time.
When I’m not running I’m… Researching chronic HIV infection or playing volleyball.
Uphills or Downhills? Love the both for different reasons, but letting the legs flow down a steep rocky downhill is an absolute blast.
Favorite post-run beer: Odell’s Cutthroat Porter
I am a Rocky Mountain Runner because… I love to get outside, explore, and share awesome trail runs with great people.
