Previously from: Wisconsin!
Personal Motto/Inspiration: “Forward” is my motto (On Wisconsin!) I draw inspiration from discovering season’s changes, the creatures we share the trails with, and my limits/abilities.
How long have you been a runner? I went for my first run in middle school when a cool kid told me that the cross country team has more fun than any other sports team. My dad inspired me to be a trail runner through “exploring” the forests near our house. It really meant tromping through the woods talking philosophy.
Happiest running moment: Sooo many! Maybe seeing the sunrise over Lake Tahoe after running through the night by myself, unsupported and completely untrained for the event, but needing a good adventure at that moment.
Proudest running accomplishment: Ice Age 50-mile course record this spring: the previous record stood for 15 years, I’ve had 3 rough goes of that race, I was surrounded by my family and friends, and it’s a classic ultra!
Favorite local running route: Beaver Brook Trail Golden to Genesee
Favorite distance: 50M
Favorite race: Cayuga 50M in Ithaca, NY
If you could lace up your shoes and go for a run anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? back to the Dolomites
Dreams: To still be running when I’m 100.
When I’m not running I’m… working as a nurse, road tripping with my fish, dreaming up the next adventure.
Uphills or Downhills? Downhills are such a thrill.
Favorite post-run beer: any Belgian
I am a Rocky Mountain Runner because… this is where the fun is!
