How long have you been a runner? I’ve always been a runner, though only recently a distance runner. From my first track team in 5th grade, I always specialized in hurdles and the 400 m. But, like many sprinters, I migrated to longer distances over time! Since I’ve always loved hiking, trail running seemed like a nice blending of my love of mountains and running.
Proudest running accomplishment: The 2013 North Fork 50 mile race. My second ultra and one I actually enjoyed!
Favorite local running route: I love taking the Four Pines trail up Kohler Mesa and meeting up with the Mesa Trail. It’s a nice mix of grades and technicality.
Favorite distance: Marathon and 50M
If you could lace up your shoes and go for a run anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? Austria. I lived in Vienna for a while before I was a trail runner. I spent a lot of time hiking and would love to go back for some running.
When I’m not running I’m… probably gardening, taking pictures, or hanging out with my dog, Zeus.
Uphills or Downhills? I like the variety of both, but I’m much more competitive at downhills.
Favorite post-run beer: I’m not picky!
I am a Rocky Mountain Runner because… good people, good running, what could be better?!
