Personal Motto/Inspiration: Time to toughen up

How long have you been a runner? Been running since track in junior high. I like long trail runs because I really enjoy long drawn out suffering, and I like the scenery. I started doing ultras because I really like big belt buckles.

Happiest running moment: Getting my first 100 miler belt buckle was pretty cool (WS100, 2011)

Proudest running accomplishment: Helping a good friend turn around a poor start at the Leadville 100 in 2012 while pacing him over Hope.

Favorite local running route: High Lonesome Loop from Hessie

Favorite distance: 50M

Favorite race: Rattlesnake Ramble

If you could lace up your shoes and go for a run anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? The Dolomites are really sweet

Goals: Break 17 minutes up Sanitas.

When I’m not running I’m… the founder of ASTP coaching (previously worked at the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine), coaching for the Boulder Nordic Junior Racing Team, being a dad.

Uphills or Downhills? I like to hike uphills briskly and bomb downhills kamikaze style

Favorite post-run beer: anything dark, porters and stouts. Black Butte Porter from the Deschutes Brewery is awesome.

I am a Rocky Mountain Runner because… it’s fun to run with a group once in a while!
